Museum Hours:  May, Sept , & Oct open on Saturday from 10-3 p.m. and Sunday 12- 4 p.m.

Summer Months – June – July – Aug  open every day except Monday.  Hours: Tuesday through Saturday 10-3 p.m. and Sunday 12- 4 p.m.

Price: Adults – 5.00; Senior Citizens – $4.00; Youth 13 -18 – $3.00 and free for children 12 years and under, accompanied by an adult.  Tours welcome by appointment.


Sunday, May 18 2014 – National Museum Day.

Our Indian Room collection will officially open with a free open house from 12 – 4 p.m.  The collection is one of the finest collections of local ancient Native American artifacts to be found.

Wednesday, May 21  – Annual Dinner Meeting

To be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church Hall, Settlement Road just off of Rt. 61 South of Norwalk at 6:30 p.m.  Price of dinner is $12. Reservations are due by Wednesday, May 14.  Meeting and election of officers will take place prior to the program. The program will be presented by board member, Matt Burr.  He will discuss the history of our Jefferson Sloth Bones collection, which proves that early humans (Paleo-Indians) were in this area 13,500 years ago.  The meeting and program can be attended without charge.

Wednesday, June 18

Annual picnic to be held at the home of Dick and Carolyn Suhr, 857 Peru Olena Road, Norwalk at 6 p.m.  Dick is an old car enthusiast and has several cars to show and will take you for a ride in one of them.  Bring a dish to share.  Table service and beverages will be provided by the hosts.

Saturday, July 12, 2014    GARDEN TOUR

Annual self guided Garden Tour from 10 – 4 p.m.  Features six gardens in the Norwalk area.  Tickets are $10 and go on sale on July 1.  They can be purchased at Schild’s IGA, 171 Milan Ave and at the Firelands Museum, 4 Case Ave., Norwalk.  Tickets will also be available on the day of the tour  at the Firelands Museum starting at 9:30 a.m. and at Schild’s IGA.  No rain tickets.
